10 Things To Do This Fall

Bear with me guys. For the next couple of days I will be going Fall crazy. So that means I will be talking about Fall, Autumn, crispy brown and golden leaves, sweater weather, pumpkin everything, Halloween, and many more fall related paraphernalia, none stop. I really hope you guys enjoy Fall as much as I do! It is the perfect wardrobe weather where you can layer up on the clothes without having to cover your styles with a stuffy winter coat and you can find the perfect pile of leaf to take a running dive into and just relive your childhood. For some reason, this season brings out the inner kid in me and I have no problem letting her out.

So to celebrate the season and much thanks to Cupcakes and Cashmere for the idea, here is my bucket list for this fall:

2. Go to a Haunted House, preferably The Haunted Hoochie. Can’t wait!

3. See Hotel Transylvania in theaters

4. Two words: Pumpkin Picking!!!

5. Throw a pumpkin carving party

6. Find the perfect Afro for my cat so that he can be his namesake for Halloween (Smokey Robinson)

7. Go to a major city-Chicago or Atlanta- for Halloween

8. Trick or Treating: preferably as part of a community service project. Don’t want to be that creepy 20-somethin’ yr old who just can’t give up the tradition right ; )

9. Have at least 2 editorial photo shoots. It’s too beautiful out not to take advantage of the weather.

10. Host a Thanksgiving Potluck Dinner

11. And lastly, get a job so that I can afford all of the above, lol ; )

It’s Finally Arrived: FALL!!!

 

Fall has finally arrived and you know what that means. Apple picking time!!! So without further ado, hope you enjoy this brief collection of images of our excursion out to the orchards. I felt like such a kid again!

The Uniform

It was freezing cold this morning, to the point where there was frost on my car’s windows! So I figured it was time to pull out my fall staple-the leather jacket. But then of course this is Columbus, and the weather has to change every five minutes so the day ended with  blazing  80 degree temps and the jacket had to be quietly tucked back into my closet again… : (

I can’t wait for fall.

Today, I was not feelin’ it. You know those days where you wake up and feel some shade of gray (and no this is not some perverse reference to a certain book). This was one of those days, and while most people would reach for that favorite pair of jeans and t-shirt combination, I reach for my standard uniform. One cut off shirt and one maxi skirt for me please! If all else fails and the world were to end tomorrow, this would be my uniform till the very end. It’s comfortable, versatile, and I can play it up multiple ways. Perfect!

I do have to add though that today did end on a high note though. Meine vater took me out for a quality abendessen! Good luck translating that ; )

Back to School Ramblings

‘Tis the season to dust off that old book bag, scramble to find enough cash for textbooks, and pray to the Uni gods that your professors don’t take attendance.

Uh, well… that time actually came and went for me a few weeks ago but I just found this video buried in the inter web of my Youtube where I had had every intention of posting it, but you know… school happened.

So, this topic was so big that I just had to keep going with it and do a follow up video for it and it also may have inspired a new series for the blog. Hmm…. What do you guys think about a weekly feature on all of the horrible, terrible, no good, very bad experiences I’ve had in the dating game. 3 Easy Steps to Better Sex

Being Sexually Unfulfilled

Let’s start this off with a show of hands. How many of you have had sex without orgasming? Without being pleasured, fulfilled, or having cummed?

Yeah, I feel you.

Unfortunately, we’ve all been there but this is a 100% curable phenomena. Are you ready for the solution?

Here it is. All you have to do to fix it is Stop, Talk, and Listen.

I am the kind of person that will stop my partner, mid-sex, to tell them exactly what I like or don’t like. If I’m not feeling it at all and am not getting anything out of it, I will even up and leave you behind in the bedroom. That’s just the way I am. I’m a snob when it comes to sex, point blank. I demand your best because I will give you my best.  It’s as simple as that for me.

So here it is, the 3 easy steps to better sex.

1. Stop: Don’t be afraid to pause in the heat of the moment. Just because you’re in the middle of bumping uglies does not mean that it is too late to change things up.

2. Talk: Tell your partner(s) what you do or do not like. For example;

“Hey, I’m not really liking that position. Can we switch to this one instead?”

or

“Hey, you almost had me at my climax but then you changed stroke too quickly. Try to keep a constant rhythm.”

And finally, last but not least.

3. Listen: This is THE most vital step. You need to listen to your partner. You expect your partner to listen to your requests and suggestions so you need to respect your partner(s) as well and listen to theirs.

It is as simple as that. Oftentimes we get too caught up in the hype of sex and forget what sex is supposed to be all about. It’s supposed to be, light-hearted, sexy, crazy, wild, chaste, demur, conservative, liberal, brilliant, and awe-inspiring. It is supposed to be whatever rocks your socks off and then some so do not be afraid to stop the process in order to make it better, communicate with your partner(s), and most importantly listen to your partner(s).

Let’s Talk About Anal Sex

 

Let me just start this post off by saying that I am not a fan of Anal Sex. I have tried it every which way and it still is not my cup of tea. However, I’m young and I have a very bright and hopeful sexual future so it might turn out that my preference will change. You never know.

With that said, I want each and everyone of you to try it out. I know you’re giving me the squeamish side, but really just try it. You know the saying “Don’t knock it ’till you try it.” That most definitely applies here because you really never know. It just may be that you fall in love with anal sex. It may turn out that you’re like me and it’s not your preference. Either way, when it comes to sex and your sexuality I am a firm believer in try anything once (within reason y’all 😉

Women Masturbate Too!

Women masturbate. On a Bed. In the Shower. In the Car. In our dreams. With Friends. We do masturbate.

Still with me? Okay. I just had to get that point across as flagrantly as possible. Are you squeamish yet? Good, because this post is about to become a whole lot more blunt.

I’m sick and tired of this stigma against female masturbation. Even more than that, it kills me that this subject is so taboo. Yes, little boys masturbating is considered a ‘taboo’ topic, but take a moment to consider all of the PSA’s that went into the creation of the stereotype of little boys disappearing off to the shower for a little ‘personal time.’

“Oh don’t mind Billy. Boys will be boys after all.”

In our society[the U.S.] there is a socialized norm towards boys masturbating, but that same norm does not get extended to their female counter parts. I used to wonder why that was but then I had to stop myself and give myself a reality check. Duh Kalhu, we live in a patriarchal society. Men can socially get away with more than women can. Now before I lose any of you, I am not some raging femme bitch who wants death to all men. No, I am just a girl living in a male-dominated world and having to suffer the consequences. We have progressed a lot in terms of women’s rights. Hell, I’m a 21-year old college student with no marital prospects, that right there is proof enough. But what we have achieved in overt success also has a dirty secret that lurks in the subtle beliefs and paradigms of our culture; indirect sexism. It’s still alive and kicking, and it is rearing it’s ugly head especially in the conversation on female masturbation.

Let’s talk about masturbation. Girls will be girls after all. We experience sexual pleasure as well. We do have sensory nerves down there. A lot of them actually and we do get the urge to engage those same nerves. And you know what? It feels damn good! We can experience happy alone time too.  I personally partake in Kalhu’s special happy time quite often, (this is code speak for I masturbate, everyday). I don’t say this to be vulgar but I want to break through the barriers of this stigma and start the conversation on women masturbating.
